hi yesterday i purchased the pro 97 scanner from radio shack along with pro 97 driver i hooked to my computer nothing happen it says in cloneing mode how do you download channels im going nuts

Some of the questions you'll be asked first before someone will help you are;
What is your location, state, county, city and what system or frequencies are you trying to put in the scanner. What software are you using, win97, arc or what. Make sure the com port settings are correct. That will be a start.

im in si ny and have the cable cd driver usb programing cable i am looking for a disk that i can down load write into different channels

You keep saying you have the "cd driver", but you dont mention that you have an ACTUAL program used for programming your pro-97. Download WIN97, then go to the DATABASE page here at RR and enter the frequencies you need/want into the WIN97 program, after you are done adding whatever frequencies you want, hook the scanner up using the programming cable, and click "upload to scanner" and you are done.

yep, once you install win97, get the cable on thee right com#, in win97 program got ot he web import, follow the bouncing ball and itll load it up for you.

after you see how it works youll probably want to edit the lists or add to it manually in the channel tab in win97.

If I learned to do it in a few days, anyone can.
because I aint that quick on the uptake myself.
