Well, well. That was interesting. My Pro-97 hung up in clone mode. I have seen a couple of threads regarding the Pro-95 doing this, but the ops never posted a final solution.
I was uploading a file, and when it finished, I pulled the cloning cable as usual. However, the scanner never went out of clone mode. I could plug the cable back into the scanner, and upload and download with no problems, but the clone mode would not clear once the cable was removed.
I couldn't do an initialization as I was not getting the "Welcome" screen when I power off/on. As an afterthought, and not having a can of compressed air at hand, I blew into the pc jack and voila! It reset and came up as -normal. I then re-inserted and removed the clone cable into the scanner again, and it came up as normal.
Anyway, an interesting little variation to my daily routine. I can only summize that a very small amount of dush got across the contacts and shorted them out until I blew into the hole (no jokes now!). Just thought I would pass this along as food for thought should anyone have this happen to them.
