I have a Pro96 from Radio Shack, I've had it for about a year or so. When they programmed it they put in Loudon and other counties here in VA. The problem is I'll most likely never listen to those counties unless I can put them all in the scanner. I've got the Arc96 software and usb cable but I'm completely clueless on how to program this thing myself. I'm kind of sick of Richmond city pd overlapping Chesterfield county pd on almost every broadcast. I hope someone can help me learn how to use this thing so I don't have to rely on radio shack.

there is a WIKI here at RR that can help program
the manuel is a good place to start
but - I have had mine for 4-5 years and it took 15min to learn to program a trunk system by hand, which can take time, 3 min for conventional but if you use a program set up for doing the work for you its cuts the time in half, what is it you dont understand a trunk system or conventional
[the better program is called WIN96 by Don Starr, which has a 30 day free trail so it should take you 1 day to clean it up to your liking ]

To solve the Richmond/Chesterfield issue, program Richmond with it's control frequencies and talkgroup ID's in one bank and Chesterfield controls and ID's in another. If needed, use a third bank for Henrico. Then toggle banks on/off as needed.

Thanks to Arc96 and this site I can put in the frequences and so on but when I loaded the saved binary file all the slot names were gone that gave any indication of what the frequences were used for by authorities. do you know if VA power has frequences that can be listen in on?
