problem setting up new pc for my feed

I purchased a refurb HP desktop that uses displayport to use as my Radiofeed server pc. I bought an adapter to connect my hdmi monitor. Does displayport somehow disable all the line in ports? I have 2 front and 2 rear ports, and none of them detect my line in cable from my scanner! Has anyone else encountered this?

DisplayPort has nothing to do with the audio in ports.
Can you go to the Windows Mic Privacy settings and see if ProScan is allowed to use the Microphone/Line In ports.

{edit} Looking at the Win Mixer screenshot, Line In shows not plugged in so that may not be Win Mic/Ine In privacy setting after all. Maybe a cable issue.

Thanks for trying, I thought the same about the cable. Hooked it back up to the old Freescan pc and it still works fine.

Perhaps google -> synaptics line in shows not plugged in
