I have a BC780 XLT. I have the new Sac. Co/CHPD/EGPD/SPD talkgroups entered and so far I've been able to hear everything. However, last night I shut the scanner off. When I turned it back on this AM the scanner will NOT id scan in the bank. Even when I hit the trunk button it won't ID scan. it just says "Scanning". When working properly it says, "ID Scanning" and I get only those talkgroups that I've entered. When it "Scanning" mode it picks up EVERYTHING!!!!

I am tired of listening to the bus drivers! someone help please.

New EGPD talk groups?

Are there, or will there be soon, new talk groups for EGPD? If so, what are they?

Thanks. I plugged those in; 52432 appears to be their primary channel. When the air was cleared at approx. 0015, the dispatcher advised other units to go to EGPD 2.

Unable to TrunkTrack

I too have been unable to TrunkTrack since the new Sac PR/Sac SD radio system was introduced. I have a Unident BCT8 which worked fine until the change over. I have updated the scanner with all the new frequencied and trucking ID's, however, when I go into the "TRUNK" and "PVT" mode to scan the inputed ID's, the scanner shoudl read "id SCAN"; however, it remaining in the conventional "SCAN" mode, scanning only the frequencies, not the trucking ID"s. Can anyone help me with this issue...the use of teh scanner is vital to my business!!!!

You both have programming issues. Either talk group programming or something else. All scanners that could trunk the "old system" can scan the "new system" just fine.

For starters, if you don't have the Control Channel Only feature, you have to have all the freqs programmed.

Because the Talk Groups can appear on either site 001 or site 002, you will need to have duplicate talk groups for each site.

For example

Elk Grove PD Ch.1 TGID = 52432

Normally this talk group shows up on Site 001, but it can show up on site 002 depending where the transmission is coming from geographically. So, you will need to also program talk group 52432 into Site 002.

If you don't have the contral channel (data channel) programmed, it's not going to work.
Since the "change" there are only two big differences.

1. New talk group IDs
2. Talk Group IDs are not exclusive to just one site, they can appear on both sites.

This thread listed below explains a lot about the "new system"

You'll have to play around with that. I had the setup for my 785 on the old system, but dunno how it works on the new system. If you have trouble, I would just stick to inputting all of the frequencies and verifying that you can at least get that to work.

SSD's CSI? Negative

They are also Deputies and only do "follow-up" - Not to be confused with a CSO

Unable to TrunkTrack in Sac

I followed your instructions to the letter, however, my Uniden BCT8 is still not scanning in the "id SCAN" mode. I have programmed the scanner to scan Motorola Type II systems. I entered all the radio frequencies for Site 001 into the frequency bank 1 and all the radio frequencies for Site 002 into the frequency bank 2. I then programmed the trunking ID's for Sac PD into the trucking ID bank 1 and the trunking ID's for Sac Co. Sheriffs into the trucking ID bank 2. I set the scanner to scan both frequency banks 1 & 2; however, when I push the "TRUNK" key and the "PVT" key to scan the entered trunking ID's, the scanner only scans the frequencies in the basic "SCAN" mode and it will not scan the trunking ID's in the "id SCAN" mode. I am at a total loss as I have read your instructions and the owner's manual front to back several times. Can you PLEASE help?? I will owe you HUGE if you can assit me in getting my scanner to function properly. If you would please email me a response to jlingman@yahoo.com I would really appreciate it.
