Scanner works great, love it, however when there's a fire or EMS tone out, for example Monmouth Fire 1, which is as strong of a signal as any here in Middletown, the audio cuts out and the scanner begins to search again, stopping back on it after the tones when the dispatcher is speaking. The Priority setting is off, and I haven't messed with the Fire Tone Out feature. Any help would be great, I'm puzzled.

"Best Practices" on such systems are for CTCSS/DCS to be turned off during paging tone-out. Not every system does it, but the behavior you describe could be explained by that. Also, if you have the scanner set to AUTO or NFM, the overmodulation caused by the mismatched settings could cause the scanner to not work well during highly modulated signals (like tone-outs). Those channels should be set to FM.

Thank you, I've got the CTCSS on because of the NYFD Citywide transmissions, and the AUTO on. I'll give it a try.
