Problems with PWC

Anybody have any problems picking up Prince William County? I just got my 396t and cant pick them up.

No problems here. I am monitoring PD WEST 1 right now from the mid county area

I seem to no be getting any signal. I live in Manassas so I should have no problem picking it up. I used ARC to input it, maybe that didnt get the right frequency.

Control Channel is 868.6000 Mhz

Well, the scanner picks it up outside. Just doesnt work in my house. Are there any antennas that will improve signal for picking up PWC?

Try on of the 800 Mhz antennas from radio shack or you could get an external antenna from somewhere like scannermaster. I find it hard to believe you cant recieve PWC inside your residence at all do you have any sources of interference close by that could be overloading the radio? Im not doubting what your saying there just arent very many completely dead spots on this system

I get a bar or two when I am on the first floor, but the basement is the killer. In the tv room I have a small window, but doesnt seem to help. Which 800mhz antenna would work the best? I checked scannermaster.com for the 800mhz antennas and they had about a half dozen different ones. Are they all about the same or any significant dfferences. Sorry for the elementary questions, thanks alot for your help.

hmmmm....yea depending on where you are located in Manassas I could see you being below grade killing your singal. As for what antenna would work best, part of it depends on what you feel comfortable with and what you have the capability to install. Any of the rooftop antennas that cover 800mhz should do the trick. The idea is just to get a better vantage point for reception than the stock rubber duckie on the radio in the basement. Send me a PM with a general idea of where in Manassas you are and Ill give you an idea of how far you are from the closest tower.
