• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have the ProGramer Version R17. Im a virgin to it. What radios are availble to program with R17. I have an MRK, and LPE 200, 500m, Orion, and 7100p. Will the R17 program all these? also our agency is about to go ProVoice. Does the R17 support it? or will need to upgrade to the R20 with RPM? as it stands now, we do not use AEGIS or ESK's. Just EDACS 800mhz. Trunked. I see a long list of radios in my Radio Type drop down menu, everything from PCS to DPE's. But on my "About" read me on the help menu i see this:

MRK.dll, PCS.dll, MPA.dll are these all i can program?

You're good. It'll do all you need it to. As for the radios it will program, just start by creating a new file and it'll allow you to select from among the available radio types. ALL of them that are supported. It's a pretty long list. Every radio you mentioned that you have is supported by R17.

The .dll files are files used by programmer to handle those radios. By no means does that mean that programmer is limited only to radios that have a .dll file named for them.

Rebanding Help please!

We just rebanded the 800 system here. I'm having problems programming a few radios. The system LCNs begin at 11 not 1. My question is how do I leave channels 1 thru 10 blank to begin at 11?

If it's giving you an error because 1-10 are blank, just stick bogus frequencies in them. If the system isn't going to be assigning them, it won't matter.

Rebanding Help please!

Worked like a charm. Thanks for the help. I've been away from EDACS for about 4 years now. I appreciate the help.
