Hi. I have had this Pro 106 scanner for a number of years now, and it has worked just fine. I had it programed at Radio Shack from a CD. My Wife pressed some button on the face, and now I have no programs at all. Been trying for 2 weeks now to figure out how to reprogram it. Still nothing. Is there a CD That I can get that will program it back to my State, and County?? Thanks..

Is it easy to use??

See if either one offers a fully working free trial. If so, you could read your radio into the software and maybe see what was turned off or disabled.
It's been ages since I've used either one that buddrousa supplied links for so I can't really offer any help.

What State and county do you live and what system are you trying to monitor?

My first reaction is that the scan lists are disabled. It would take a major stroke of luck to push the correct series of buttons on boot up to erase.

Make sure there are numbers across the top of the LCD, i.e. 1 2 3, etc. If not then Scan Lists are disabled. Push numbers 1 through 0 to enable 1 - 10 and Func 1 through 0 for 11 - 20.

There are 2 types of resets. Resetting to the Factory Default erases everything including frequencies and data you programmed. It will be just as it came from the factory. To do this reset start the scanner & at the welcome screen press 0, then press 1. The screen will say:
Factory Init
Erase Memory
ENTER if APPROVE
CLEAR to EXIT

The 2nd type of reset is the Global Parameters factory default and will NOT erase your programmed data. As quoted from the manual:
"This procedure preserves the information
you stored in the scanner’s working memory,
while resetting all global radio parameters
to factory defaults. V-Scanner memory is not
affected by this operation.

To do this reset you press 0, then 2. The screen will show:
Init GLOB data
To factory state
ENTER if APPROVE
CLEAR to EXIT
