Programming a UBCD536PT for Railway P25II Trunking.

Hi group,
in Sydney Australia our railway operates on P25II trunking system. Can I program via Sentinel with only the CC or control channel as I do not have the TGID to the railway terminal. Also which mode do I use, P25 TDMA…?

Sorry for the the newbe question but I’m new to programming trunk systems.

Set it up as a P25 Standard trunked system (P25 Trunk in Sentinel). That works with both P25 Phase 1 & 2. Phase 2 is TDMA. Do NOT use P25 X2-TDMA. Set the system to ID Search to find talkgroups. Using Sentinel, in the favorites list editor, click on the system and the Options tab. Set ID Search to On.

Make sure your"Railroad" service type is checked... As @tvengr stated... More than likely it is though...

You can program this talkgroup and leave the system in ID Search to find other talkgroups. All of the railway talkgroups have a Mode of D which indicates they are currently operating as P25 Phase 1. Mode T (TDMA) is Phase 2.

There are a ton of railway talkgroups listed here if you scroll down to Railways: NSW Government Radio Network The number of talkgroups will not affect the scanning speed of a trunked system. Program both of these frequencies for the site:

416.1875
416.8125
One is the main control channel frequency and the other is an alternate.
