A system I am listening to uses Harris' Dynamic Patching or System Assigned IDs as well as Multiselect/Simulselct.
So, that means when a particular police agency on this system broadcasts a priority call to the entire agency or county-wide, such as an armed robbery or shooting, the system will randomly assign one of these dynamic talkgroups from a predetermined list by the sysadmin rather than an "all-call" or "fleetwide" talkgroup. The system also will assign these when they establish a temporary patch to a neighboring system or a V-TAC frequency for interagency comms. This particular system uses a block between 65100-65200.
I am a TV news photographer overnight, so I need to be able to hear these priority dispatches and patches on my Unications when I am outside of the car away from my Unidens which I have the talkgroups all programmed into.
Is there a way to program a range of talkgroups for this or any other workaround to hear these while I am scanning my Fire and PD talkgroups? If not, this is a HUGE limitation for anyone using these on Harris systems...
