TRX-1: programming issues

i am having problems uploading data from ezscane software
it doest recognise the trx1 scanner when plugged in by the USB cable supplied and also it doesnt recognise the scanner when i try to upgrade software
the only way i can do is by removing SD card and placing into computer
would appreciate some help

First, if is like the 1080, the scanner must be turned off. Did you install the driver for the TRX-1? It is on the whistlergroup.com site.

Pretty hard to explain but when you download and RUN the EZ Scan software the driver should be installed. Only problem I've
had before is the finding the correct COM PORT, but it worked fine with EZ Scan. As stated above, be sure the scanner is off.
Also I've noticed that sometimes you need to unplug the cable and then plug it in again. Also be sure you use the supplied
cable.

the instruction booklet is misleading

I have found that in some cases it works better if you plug in the scanner first before starting the TRX-1 EZ Scan software.

It also works much better when the program (EZscan) is seamless with all OS's without altering any imbedded OS security barriers.

Good advice here. You do need the driver and cable connectivity for firmware/DSP updates. That said, whenever possible use an external reader for loading the card, it is much faster than doing it via the cable. I've also sometimes had errors on the card when using the cable...it's never happened to me using a reader.
