First off I want to apologize for bringing up another pro97 topic.....but I have searched until I cant search no more and I cant get my problem fixed.

I have the Pro97 from Radio Shack. I initialized it to get rid of everything in its memory so I could program the frequencies I wanted into it. I have Win97 and a subscription to Radio Ref so I could import the frequency list for Huntsville,AL. However, I dont want everything listed in "Public Safety". So I only check marked the ones I wanted. I clicked Done. Now when I click on the channel tab of Win97, I see in the lower right corner the frequencies I selected. But the big channel list shows nothing (still 000.0000 under frequency). Am I doing something wrong? I tried to import and it says it did so, but when I turn the scanner on and hit scan it says "ALL CHANNELS LOCKED"

I tried doing a search about the all channels locked stuff and see that it means there is nothing programmed into the scanner. Am I missing something? Is there something I need to do to the scanner after initializing and before uploading from Win97?

I need some help please! The help thing that came in the Win97 download doesnt work for some reason.

Thanks

Just load something into the scanner that "ALL CHANNELS LOCKED" will go away. It says that because it's 100% empty.
Open the Windows Device Manager look under ports with the cable plugged in it will show you the proper Com port number.

Those are Talkgroup IDs (not frequencies).

Make sure you choose the "Sites" during the import as well as the talkgroup IDs.

well i had the port wrong, but fixed it. It goes through the whole thing of uploading and says done......but I unplug the cord and it immediately says "all channels locked". Its like its putting nothing on the scanner at all.

After importing the frequency list and clicking "done", all I should have to do is UPLOAD correct? See on the channel list after importing, it still shows everything blank......but the box in the lower right corner shows the Alpha tag and Id from the import.

That was it! I didnt select the Sites. Thanks a bunch for all of y'alls help. For some reason i keep getting fire and records still, but im thinking its because the frequency list may be messed up. I can just lock them out

The banks may be open so you will get all talkgroups active in the system. I like to just lockout the ones you don't listen to, and leave the banks open, you never know when you might find a seldom used but interesting TG
