I am trying to program sites in Denver. According to the RR data there are freqs like:
762.00625 on site #147 There are many others- this is just 1 example.

The 996T only goes down to 764.0000 making the above un-programmable.

There are also many freqs on this system that are 5 nonzero digits to the left of the decimal point. My ARC software attempts to round up.

Basically, my question is - how are you guys programming Denver Metro??

Any help would be great!

All DTRS sites, such as 147 operate with control channel trunking, so you only need to program in a single frequency (the control channel) for each site and in the 147 example that would be 868.5125, no need to program any of the other freqs.

What area are you trying to monitor? I might have some ARC files that would help.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply... I drive back and forth across the state (I-70) about 8 times a year. So just APCO 25 system is all I will monitor. I don't really need the Denver Local stuff - just rural Sheriff and CSP.

I basically an programming quick keys for each site - there are about 20 sites on my path - so I am programming 20 quick keys.

I have been programming every freq - I know that a 9600 baud system will populate the other freqs for you - I just did not trust that. I am in Kansas and Have nothing to test that theory on - We have no digital systems here yet.

You need to look at getting a GPS for the 996t, It's great for travling accross the state... The Garmin GPS-18 (RS-232 not USB) is about 100 bucks and plugs right in to the scanner. Files are avlible for this mode of operation as Jim stated.
