Good morning everyone I have a Uniden SDS 100 and purchased the premium plan with radio reference and not sure how to plug into the site to transfer local frequencies to my scanner. I have the Sentinal software . Can anyone help me in what to do to make it happen?

Forget the premium subscription. That is not how you program the radio. You do it within Sentinel by creating favorites lists and then connecting the radio and uploading that data to the radio.

You also update Sentinel by just running an update which downloads the full radioreference database into Sentinel. Then you use that database to add records to a favorites list.

@Alodes there are numerous posts in the UNIDEN forum and in the programming software forum for doing this. The upper right corner is the search button. That really isn't a general scanning question and you'll find lots of help in the other forums.

I have been a premium subscriber on/off but that is only to program radios that are not there 436, sds1⁰ or 200. You can use the premium subscription to download systems to older radios that don't have the full database on SD card like the bcd996p2, 325p2, 396 and others using an application. But that is not needed to program the 100 or 200 or their immediate predecessors like the 436.

All true Mark...
But if you use ProScan instead of Sentinel to do it... You will need to be a Premium Subscriber...

Exactly my thought as well.

You cannot "import" systems from the database using Sentinel. However, you can append a system from the main database (in Sentinel) to an existing or new Favorites list. That way, you ensure that the location data is also in place in case you wanted to use Location control on a given list.

However, when you append a sizeable regional or statewide system, you can carefully select only the Departments you want to append, but Sentinel will also append every site for that system, many of which are well out of range, You can go through & manually set the "extras" to "Avoid", or if you are using Location control on that Favorites list, the scanner will ignore those out of range.

I prefer to simply delete the out of range sites. Should I plan a road trip that would need some of those out of the area sites, I can easily append that system to a new list for the trip. But a better solution, at least for me, is to use ProScan and the web import from Radio Reference. Yes, you must be a Premium Subscriber to do that, but you have full control to import only the Departments and Sites that you need, without getting all the extra out of range sites. You can do selective imports with ARC536 as well. However, I prefer ProScan. ProScan can program the SDS and x36HP scanners, as well as many of the other Uniden scanners that I own. ProScan also lets you do virtual control & logging, among other tasks. ARC536 can program the SDS100 and SDS200, as well as the 436HP & 536HP, but no other scanners such as the DMA 996P2 & 325P2.

The ARC536 Basic program (about $40) is for imports and programming only. If you want to add virtual control & logging, you need to move up to the "Pro" version. ARC536 Pro is about $70. ProScan, at $50, does programming for a number of other Uniden scanners, as well as virtual control and logging. Both programs have a 30-day trial period, and both also have free lifetime updates. Try both, then choose the one you like best.
