Programming the BCD996T

Is there anyone out there that can tell me how to put my name in the display window? Do I have to do it through the software? I saw someone's BCD996T with their name in the display window when they turned on their Scanner. I tried, but I couldn't figure it out. Thanks!

I used the UASD Software to do my 396, so it would probably work for the 996 too.

I believe it needs to be done via software. I changed mine using ARC996. It's somewhere in the settings, I just can't remember how it's done.

It can be done in software using either the UASD or ARC996 applications. In UASD you have to open the Configuration Editor and click on the Miscellaneous tab. About halfway down you'll see "Opening Screen" followed by four lines to put text in.

In ARC996, go to View|Configuration|General settings. You'll see a window on that screen to put the text in.

Same procedure for the 396, BCT15, and I'd assume the BR330T.

I just looked on my 396 and don't see a way to set this manually.
