ProScan: Proscan 22.7 loads and runs fine. But 22.8 and 22.9 virus?

22.7 Loads and runs with no issues. But 22.8 which the app says is current, once downloaded fails the final portions of the install as Windows 11 puts it in Virus jail.

So I went to the website and see that 22.9 is now the current version. I download it and it won't even show me what's in the zip without Windows 11 locking it up.

Odd that 22.7 works.

What antivirus software are you using and what is the name of the virus?
Is your antivirus definition up to date?

Virus issues I'm aware of. I reported it to SecureAge and they got back with me last Thursday and said it will be fixed within 72 hours.
What's strange to me is it only happens on the setup exe file and not the actual core files; ProScan.exe and ProScan1.dll.

Detected Trojan:Scrip/Wacatac.B!ml
Status: Quarantined
File: D:/Download/Proscan_22_9.zip

When attempting to run 22.8 proscan.exe at the end of installation:

Level: Severe
Status: Quarantined
Detected: Behavior: Win32/Execution.A!ml
Affected items: File: C:\Program Files (86)\ProScan\ProScan.exe and ProScan.lnk

I had to type these because win 11 wouldn't let me copy them.

Thanks for the info. I can't duplicate it using Microsoft Defender 3/17/2024 update Windows 11. I don't have any allowed threats on the computer. If it was downloaded from my ProScan site then it should be okay to allowed the threat.
