I have noticed a distinct difference between the colors shown in Sentinel and the resulting colors on my SDS 100. Ah, there is significant mismatch of colors. Red looks like some odd variant of washed-out orange. Hues of Green end up looking like Yellow.

So, does ProScan produce more accurate hexadecimal color codes?

The issue is the scanner display not displaying the colors accurately. ProScan displays the RGB values accurately but that is using the computer monitor. If the computer monitor color calibration is way off then the colors won't show correctly either.

In other words, you are comparing the computer monitor with the scanner display.

// edit - Are you sure the Red is actually pure Red which is RGB 255,0,0 ? Perhaps you have a variant of Red set such as Tomato Red.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I have a higher resolution monitor attached to my laptop for photographic editing.

Now, there is something I won't do. I've had enough discussion with my wife about color identification. Previously, I did not know the ultimate source of colors was a box of Crayolas. I will make a feeble attempt to identify a color, but generally speaking, my arse gets handed to me. LOL.

So, I will continue to stab at this without resorting to color names.

I hope you've had a laugh.
