I was just looking at the Owners Manual for the yet to be released PSR-410 and noticed that a USB cable is included in the box.

That's new for an analog scanner, right? the 400 didn't include one if I'm not mistaken.

If this retails for $200 like the 310, that'd be sweet!

Don't believe everything you read!

According to THAT site, both the 310 and the 410 come with 10 banks and a total of 1000 channels. No mention of the obvious change which is the object oriented system. I say wait until they come out and see what happens. They are under pressure to compete with Uniden who includes the USB cable.

I'm thinking with the 410...now that it has the object oriented memory as its digital counterpart...that GRE simply took the OM from the PSR-600 and took out what didn't apply to this analog version and simply overlooked the accessories and left the USB cable as included.
(Perhaps there are other things in there that shouldn't be)

This sort of thing has happened before with the Uniden manuals. I forget if it was the 330T or BCT-15 but it was obvious that its manual was a clone from 396T/996T for the same reason...it had things in there that didn't apply to the analog radio.

I think that's the more likely scenario...

OR, they're gonna try to compete more with Uniden as N1SQB stated...

OR, the 410 will be sold for 30 or so dollars more than the 310...

I can't speak for the 410, but the Scannermaster Blog showed what comes with the PSR-310. There's no cable provided. I had to order mine separately.

Gre psr-410

Just got off the "NextDayPc.com" site where the PSR-410 is going for a sweet price of $71.99 + shipping. At that price, I should have ordered two!

Just to update this thread I started...

GRE has amended their manual for the 410, adding a note that the USB cable is NOT included with the scanner but is an optional accessory.

Now if they could only fix the typo in their 310 manual on page 4...it's driving me nuts.

Nice find! I just ordered one myself. I expect it to be canceled, but it was worth a shot!

This price of $71.99 for a PSR-410 sounds too good to be true. How can this company make money? The old saying comes to mind: "If it sounds too good to be true, it is not."

Also, if you get a bad product, will it be replaced?

You have to be careful where you put your credit on line.

It's probably a typo, but if they don't notice it and I get a great radio - it was a great deal!

If they do notice and cancel - no loss. If they send me a defective product - they either get me a new, working one or my credit card company gets my money back. The last time that happened it took me about 3 minutes on the phone, so again - no loss.

There were three (4) sites that offered the same or lower price. The prices were from $66.52 to $71.30 as of this writing. Estimated arrival was 1/18/2011, or so I was told... Just Google GRE PSR-410 and look under the title "Gre PSR-410 Analog Mobile Scanner"
But I just do not get it.. the handheld (310) is the same unit as the 410, only handheld, yet we all know what that cost. Makes one wonder who sets, or how they set, the prices...
I will let you guys know when/if I get it..

I'll order one from each and see if they get through.

But realize the price is not going to be $70 for a real dealer. My bet is that these are all just resellers of various equipment. If we get one at that price, somebody is taking a big loss.

I'm not a fan of GRE scanners, but man if that $70 price is legit, it's really hard to pass up ordering one or two of them. A shame the 310 can't be found at that price, I'm in the market for a handheld.

310's can't be found at that price because they are already out. This is likely due to a typo in the master computer for these type of resellers. It will likely result in canceled orders, but no harm it trying and flipping on EBay.

Agreed, like you said worse case it's canceled. Just ordered 2, let's sit back and see what happens.
