does Puntam co sheriff still use the 153.755

Mark, need to ask somwone in the Greencastle/Putnam County area. They are on safe-t on Talkgroup 5328.I hear them all the time thru The Boone County Safe-t tower site.If I had to take a guess they would use 153.755 as a countywide car to car channel.Hendricks County Sheriff did the same thing on 154.815 and Brownsburg PD also did the same thing on 155.535.Plainfield PD also did the same thing for 155.310.

Mark, I don't monitor that frequency very much but I haven't heard anything on it in a long time, they are active on SAFE-T.

W9NES, we must have posted at the same time LOL. You could be right in that they are now using that freq as a car to car kind of thing like Hendricks co and Brownsburg did with their old freqs.

Putnam Co uses the channel on occasion, it's a backup to SAFET. Brownsburg still uses 155.5350 daily. Johnson County Sheriff also uses their VHF almost daily. The real question is how many will continue once they have been forced to narrow banding in 2013. Thats when many may disappear from the air forever.
Truth is most departments are still using their VHF channels, maybe not all the time but they do use them, and in many cases they are using those for surviellence and so forth now because they think no one monitors those channels any longer. I have two radios that have nothing but VHF channels from the whole state in them and hear things all over the state, even from departments that are primarily on SAFET.
