Hey richster. I was in a bad accident here in La Belle province in my truck. But I will be going home in about a month, then I will only be driving a dispatcher's desk after that

WOW! Well I'm glad to hear you are ok, well alive anyways. I don't think your going to like that dispatcher's desk. Let's hope you get back to driving soon.

Regards,
Richster.

On InfoScan forum, many have scanner and about 60% can't understand the handbook. So, we have to reply many questions such programming or truntracking info all day long.

I'm on many English-language lists and even though the manuals are generally in English, we still have to reply to many questions about trunking!

FPD (SSIM): it's a 800 mhz Motorola APCO-25 3600 bauds. This is a major system and very soon, they will integrate the police service (SPVM) and Montreal works (late 2005 or in 2006). This network will be linked with the new gouvernement system. 4 towers will be activated soon (now, it's only one) and it's will be a Smartzone network.

I have a UASD-format file for this system (plus the B1-B6 simplex, plus the old UHF channels) at http://plaws.net/scan/Montreal/UASD-Montreal.zip. It also contains the UHF channels for SPVM (Montreal PD). I'll be up there in a few weeks and will add any updates then.

For the Ambulance (Urgences-sante) and Doval Airport, they all use a Bell EDACS analogue communications called RSP.

Anyone have a UASD file for this system? How about tips for listening? There are a bunch of towers but do all towers carry all talkgroups?

Laval are encrypted and use the same RSP system for the fire and the police dep.

Laval was weird even in the 1980s ... ;-)

I was amused to see the freqs listed in the DB here for the SQ Montreal region - most are old SPCUM (predecessor of SPVM) channels! Do they still call it "Metro"? It used to all be on 167.010 in the 1980s and was full-duplex, complete with handsets. "Back in the day", 154.74 which is now the Laval channel, was "Canal General", which was the best one to monitor because they simulcated all the "good stuff" from the region channels there. Funny, all the suspects wore "un manteau de cuir noire et des jeans bleu". It was like a uniform or something. :)
