I have figured out my way through programing my TRX 1 with Dakota County and there was way too much LE traffic so I programmed my city, (South ST Paul) into a scan-list. I am still picking up other cities.
Is there a way to just get South St Paul.
I am new to programming on the PC and trunking in general. Is there an extra step or a box left unchecked.
Thanks for the help ahead of time.(y)

Sounds like you may have a wildcard in the system. If you do, you will receive every talkgoup on the system regardless of how many talkgroups are programmed or how many scan lists are enabled.

Dakota county has three LE dispatch talkgroups. South St Paul is on #3. It also includes the sheriff, Hastings, IGH, ... There isn't anything practical you can do other than getting good at listening for 21xx.

Now if you are hearing lots of Apple Valley or Burnsville or something then, yes something else could probably be done.

It seems as both the above are happening.
I get a lot of wildcard hits.
There are cities like Bloomington, Woodbury and Eagan.
I don't mind the other LE talk-groups but I think I am getting more than just #3.

I also get a hit on a wild card that sounds like a landline busy signal every few minutes Not sure what that one is but thought it was worth mentioning..

You are probably receiving an encrypted transmission. Do you see E on the screen? In the TRX-1 EZ-Scan programming software. go to the Advanced Features tab and then the Audio Options tab. Under Encrypted Digital Audio Settings, Audio Mode can be set to Audio Tone, Digital Noise, or Silence.
