I will be in Denver for a few days in September so I thought I would take my Uniden 396XT with me. I've never traveled with it before. I live in New Orleans which is a big city but looking at the database for Denver... it seems pretty overwhelming... but the Denver Public Safety EDACS seems almost too easy.

So I'm wondering... with that properly programmed, would I really be catching most of the action people are generally interested in. Are there other systems a visitor would be interested in.

ps: If someone was willing to share a FreeScan config for Denver, that would be awesome. I know I can import everything from the DB, but I also know from experience that there's a lot to be said for knowledge gained from using and tweaking configs after initial programming.

Denver trip

As far as what you will hear . Denver Public safety is plenty busy as Im sure you noticed by the lengthy TG list ....as for what else is worth listening to I would say it depends on were your staying and such. as well as your intrests

Aurora Edacs and Lakewood edacs westminster to the north would be good to add as would some
METRO DENVER DTRS SITES with adams county and Arapahoe county douglas jeffco TG's
then there is the DIA system and Buckley AFB federal system as well

Im sure several of us here could send you some files Ill see what I can do
for you in a week or so I got lots going on but would be glad to assist

I find the Denver EDACS (or any other busy system for that matter) to be overwhelming. I was in Denver this past week and played with the EDACS for the first time.

I pruned my list down to just 3 TGs. The Denver EMS dispatch, DFD Dispatch, and the Downtown DPD TG. I find those the most interesting given my career path (Paramedic).

With just those 3 TGs, there was never more than about 20 secs I went without hearing traffic. Simply TOO MUCH to listen to.

But the system works incredibly well and provided for a lot if fun while traveling the city.
