Questions on my Pro-5052

Apparently I have the newer firmware since my date sticker says "04A04". This allows me to scan both trunked systems and conventional frequencies simultaniously, where as the older firmware did not. What else was upgraded with the newer firmware?

So can I just program my trunked frequencies in their own banks, along with conventional frequencies in there own banks, and keep the trunk button on?

Will that allow me to listen to everything?

Also, I'm right inbetween counties. One uses Project 25 standard, and the other uses EDACS. Will I be able to properly listen to the project 25 standard system?

And with the EDACS, do I just put in the trunked frequencies in order, with the control being on the first (priority channel)? Any more than that?

The newer firmware had, as I understand it, a few other minor tweaks but nothing you'd need to be concerned about.

As written in the Michigan forum you cannot listen to P25 systems with this scanner. In addition you need to program the EDACS system in LCN order. Please see that thread for more. 73s Mike

You can do it this way or program conventionals in a trunking bank with your "newer model" scanner.

Either method, go out of trunk mode by pressing TRUNK then SCAN to toggle banks on/off with numbered keys then TRUNK to go back into trunk mode and conventional scan.
