I have a conventional system (0) with 10 groups (1-0). It has been working fine. One day I hand deleted some systems and other stuff. Now group 0 in this system only stops on frequencies in the 42.00 range (CHP) and below and not on any of the other frequency in the same group. There are 55 total freqs in this group - PD SO etc for Butte County CA. If I copy this group to (1) it works fine for group 1. However if I L/O group 0 group 1 also locks out and the scanner says nothing to scan, and vice versa. If I do not load 0 into the scanner than it works OK.
I have also reprogrammed scanner to default (as new) and reloaded from my file, same problem. I am using Freescan but don't think that was what screwed up the scanner - it was me on the keyboard but I don't know what I did.

So what did I do wrong? and how to fix?

Thank You
hope this makes sense explaining

In Freescan, it's important to note that using quick keys is really a 2 step process - allocating them then enabling them. I'm wondering if when you deleted something you accidentally locked something out, or perhaps forgot to reallocate and reenable a QK along the way. It's hard to tell given your description.

Did you also make sure when you did the upload to check off the option to refresh the quick key status?

Likely as not the only way anyone can diagnose this is to zip (compress) your .996 file, attach it to a reply, and let others look at it. Sometimes a set of fresh eyes will see what you will not. Without that, anyone who makes any guesses is really taking a pot shot in the wind

I found a way around it - still don't know why. I moved one group to its own conventional system and now it works.
