Heard a new radio unit on PhxFD yesterday (11/28/21) was wondering if it’s full time, part time or did I hear it wrong. CAR 957 WEST was dispatched to a gas leak.. ????? Thoughts???

It wouldn't surprise me if they've added Car 957 West and East, given how often North and South go on calls. Adding another one or two would help distribute the call volume.

I have not heard them myself.

Having two units with nearly identical callsigns isn't much of an issue, but four can be problematic if the workload gets heavy.
