Hello all,

I am just foraying into the Pro106 world, and Tyndall is hanging me up unlike the ol' scanner pro that I thought I was.
I tried programming the system as shown in the database, but had no trunking activity (good signal 4mi. from base).
I then discovered a post directing a change to the 800/900 Type, due to rebanding, I suppose.

I do have the blinking "T" now, but still know that something is wrong.

Can anyone help before the airshow Saturday?
I am sure it's just a TG error or something.

Thanks!

On Radio Reference site click on Database, click on Florida, click on Bay County. Scroll down to bottom of page. Tyndall AFB is listed there. It is a 400 meg system. I use a BCD996T to listen to it when weather is right. Hope this is what you need.

Tyndall should be setup as a VHF/UHF system. I listen to them all the time. What do you want to program for the area? Are you manually programming the radio or using software. I can help you tonight if needed.

Thanks, Dan.

I am using Win500.
I had it (the P25 base radio system) programmed normally through the Control Channel only method, but was not receiving any TG traffic (it was not tracking...no "T" in the display). I was getting signal, but no voice.

I switched the system type to 800 and had some tracking, but still no voice. I'm simply at a loss.

I have very successfully programmed the P25 system at Ft. Benning, GA, but it is a 380MHz Digital system.

I am obviously missing something.

I may have it...

I programmed it as VHF/UHF, have a trunking indicator now, and am just waiting for traffic/voice.

It's been quiet for 4 mins. though. We'll see...

Did you enter the base freq, step and offset?

Also do you have the talkgroups loaded or a wildcard added? I can send you over a Win500 file tonight when I get home. Let me know the lineup you want.

Here is a Win500 file for your Pro-106. This should keep you busy during the show. If you look at the file, I locked out some of the unnecessary chatter. You may want to also update the Thunderbird frequencies. I believe there close but a few may need to be added. I also included the local public safety. Good to have when monitoring traffic to and from the show.
Enjoy
Dan

Dan, you're the man!

Hey sir,

I know that was probably a minor deal to you (to send over the file) but a huge one for me.
I wasted six hours yesterday trying to figure that out, and gave up this morning to spend some time with my kiddos.

I am very thankful for that, and for the fact that I can go enjoy show comms tomorrow.

Your time and effort are very kindly appreciated.

Have a great one!

It was no problem at all. I live in the area, two counties west, but had the files in my radios already. It was just a simple modification so it would suite your needs. Let me know before you head out if the files load up. I’ve been listening to Tyndall all evening as they setup for the air show. Sounds like it’s going to be a great show.

It worked out really great, Dan.
We have been coming to this show for many years from the Columbus, GA area. It's always
a pleasure to come down.

Next show we're just going to camp out at Bonita Bay and watch it.

Thanks again, buddy.

Good to hear. The bands were weak today so I was unable to monitor the Air Show from my end. I bet you got some new Talkgroup ID hits with the Tyndall search (wildcard) I added. Did the Thunderbird freqs work?
