It appears I have lost reception below 30 mhz on my 8600, but only on antenna one.
Above 30 mhz is fine on antenna one
Below 30 mhz is fine on antenna two.

Full reset made no difference.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ed

Indoor or outdoor antennas? What kind of antennas? Maybe the antenna or coax/connectors were damaged from wind or water?

Outdoor antenna. Antenna is fine, if I move it over to antenna 2 and select that antenna it works fine.
It is not an antenna or coax issue, it is definitely a radio issue.

Any thunderstorms/lightning storms recently in your area? Static discharge? Probably not a huge problem in MS, but here I have noticed that I am zapping stuff much more frequently with the dryer/cooler air.

Nope.
If anything I probably zapped something with too much RF while I was working on a nearby antenna. I was just asking here to see if anyone else here has experienced this and if so, how did you correct it.

Haven't experienced anything like that with my R8600.

Are you running firmware 1.35? Might not hurt to upgrade and/or reinstall the firmware and see what happens. Good luck with it.

prcguy enlightened me about the use of a limiter inline. I currently use the HP 5086-7284 which covers 0-1.8 GHz. I tested the power coming in first without it and no problems as I knew about antenna spacing. Still, I installed them anyways as inexpensive insurance. I definitely use one in the vehicle where my TX antennas are much closer to my RX antenna, even though the spacing is adequate after power testing. I believe I paid $15-$30 on eBay as I have a handful in use. If you monitor up to the 3GHz the 8600 offers, or don't want to fuss with an adapter, there are other brands.

I first recommend reviewing the power coming into your RX antennas from your transmitter(s). You may need a limiter that can handle much more power, as well as the frequency range you monitor and the connector type. They can be costly, but sending equipment in for repair is unpleasant.

Thanks for that info.
I am moving and will be rebuilding my station, and will definitely be more carful in the future!
