Radio Shack Discone Antenna

Hello all,

I have a nice old Radio Shack Wideband Discone Antenna that I decided to take out of storage and I have almost all of the parts, including the lower (longer) stainless steel radial elements, but I seem to have lost the top (horizontal) ones. I know that I can purchase at my local hardware store, new threaded rod pieces and regular steel would be fine, because I'm mounting this antenna in my attic anyway. I think off of the top of my head, there are something like 8 short horizontal radials and 8 sloped downward longer radials. My big question is... would anyone happen to know the total length (in inches) of the short horizontal radial elements? Thanks ahead of time for any help! :lol:

On this page is some information. There is a formula about halfway down that helps you figure out the lengths.

There are a couple of other webpages that will help you out as well, but, I cannot find them right now.

Sorry I did not get back to you all sooner, I run my own business and most of the time it consumes me and it does take me a while to get back to you all, but I don't want anyone to think that I don't appreciate all of the great feedback, help and ideas!
