Radio shack Scanners.

Of all the Radios I have had in the past. I have knowced that these Radios do not monitor the 700MHz band. Anyone know why?

Because its only recently The FCC allocated the 700 Meghz.
For Public SAfety use..
MAybe Future models will have the 700Meghz. Open

It was UHF TV until recently.

The only reason 470-512 was in there was because of T-band.

True My understanding was that ALL UHF??!!?? were to VAcate that band by the end of 2006...
The Pro96 can Recieve 700
but can NOT trunk
Its one reason why I Decided to save and get the BCD396T
Took me a while...
But the Time of Saving was one of my PROUDEST decisions LOL
I may one day get a Pro96

Just channels 60 and up.

Years ago TV channels 70 to 83 were given up. Once the transition to digital broadcasting is complete, TV will be giving up channels 51 to 69. Analog TV transmissions must cease in the USA after 02/17/2009, but there will be a few stragglers before the spectrum will be 100% available in all areas.
