I'm trying to use my radio shack scanner pro96 in san angelo on a transcrypt/e.f.johnson ltr multi-net trunking system. The scanner is capable of motorola type I,II,III apco 25 and edacs trunking systems.

Sorry, there is no commercial scanner capable of scanning a LTR Multi-Net system. You can put the frequencies in your 96 and toggle through them in the manual mode, but you will miss most of the transmissions.

If you search Multi-Net in the Wiki you can find info on how a Multi-Net system can be tracked. You would need a scanner with a discriminator tap, a data slicer, another scanner that can be controlled by a computer and a computer. There is a LTR section in the forums that also has info on Multi-Net systems.

Good Luck Jim

In addition, the Pro 96 doesn't have the capability to trunk track any kind of LTR system so you're screwed even if it was LTR standard.
