Does anyone in Ohio have RDIO setup for their use I'm thinking about setting mine up and would love to share the link.

I run my RDIO on a Digital Ocean droplet, and the service is sitting behind Cloudflared. So when somebody connects to mine, they are actually connecting to Cloudflare, which in turn has a tunnel to my DO droplet. Of course mine is specific to Carroll Co and counties immediately adjacent to it. I have multiple locations feeding stuff into it. Everything I personally feed into it also gets sent to BCFY Calls.

But I'm sure there are quite a few others around Ohio doing similar things. Some may except feeds from anywhere in the state (or perhaps even out of state). I just happen to keep mine limited to eastern Ohio.

Ohio might be the most rdio-scanner'd state in the nation -- between AlertPage, (edited to add Homegrownalerts), and OhioRSN (they may have built something different; I've not followed it closely). At least as to the largely public ones.

It'd be interesting to know how many of us are doing our own. I don't personally have any in OH, but do in several other states (LMR and VHF/UHF airband), and enjoy comparing notes offline with folks doing similar things.

Watch out for addiction, and have fun!

Good point. I swap some traffic back and forth with one of the fellows from OhiORSN. They definitely have aggregated a lot of counties, trunked and conventional. I know that I do it in Carroll Co, NA2T does it in Jefferson Co. And I know a fella in Brooke Co WV across the river from Jefferson who is doing it (which is how us Ohio guys get WVSIRN Ohio Co Simulcast). Then all of us gather some other stuff that doesn't necessarily get sent to anyone else - local DMR trunked traffic, university security, and other stuff that doesn't necesssarily interest anyone other than us.

I run a personal Rdio-Scanner server in the Jackson/Vinton area just for myself and family. Usually can pick up Pike, Meigs and sometimes Hocking and Athens Counties on the site too. Also have a separate SDR running to throw in Wellston PD, fire, and Wellston/Jackson school buses on DMR. Not using any fancy webhost, DNS or anything like that, just my IP. Probably not wise but my rdio scanner admin panel is password protected, and I'm not too worried about hackers messing around on my PC. I don't really even advertise it anywhere. If I know the person and I know they're interested in listening on in the area, and I know they aren't going to commit crimes and listen in, I would share it with them, but it's mostly just for personal entertainment.

I run a bluetooth speaker to my living room when I'm home, and I can listen on my phone out on the road.

On a really good night I can even switch it up and pick up clear traffic from WVSERN, what I presume to be in the Point Pleasant area. But, that rarely happens. Conditions just need to be perfect I guess.
