R7000 Re-Cap and Restorations

Anyone know of any shops that still work on R7000's? I have a friend with one who would like to get it re-capped and restored/aligned properly.

Most of the shops I was familiar with have closed/retired or otherwise gone..

I called Icom service a few years ago and the lady gave me the name of a former Icom employed tech in Georgia. I don't have records of him anymore. He worked on my R8500 and the work looks factory and it operates perfectly. It did take him some time though.

I have an Icom R-7100 that ought to be serviced. Is this the place in Georgia you used? Amateur Radio Service

Those radios had a service notice that pertained to low sensitivity. The receivers are varactor tuned and if the power supply capacitors become weak, the AC ripple will affect tuning. Fix power supply and no tuning required to fix the low sensitivity.
