rebanding bcd325p2

Having read and researched Rebanding, I have a bcd325p2 scanner. My scanner has the band plan and when i look at the frequencies it has a LCN - Logical Control Number) slot.
Since Charleston SC has gone to Reband, I would like to know the LCN for said area.
If anyone and or Uniden can assist, I would appreciate it much.
I do like to listen to Police chatter at night. It is interesting to do so. It establishes an insight as to how PD(s) operate past the thin veil of "polite society".

The above is the data I have currently. I have upgraded to the newest firm war 1.08 firmware in. That was done well.

Then you don't need anything to do with the LCNs. What you need is a rebanding custom table that will be supplied automagically if you use any of the supported apps for that radio (FreeScan, ProScan, ARC-XT). It can be entered manually, altho it is a bit of a pain. See here...

With Motorola systems, ignore LCN's and you can enter the frequencies in any order. All you need is the custom 800 MHz rebanded band plan.

The OP is close to the truth - in fact, Moto systems do use a LCN in a calculation that helps determine the next available frequency. This calculation breaks down when rebanding is concerned, and that's what the custom table (which I see he has in his message) adjusts. It's just the mechanics of how to get the custom table into the radio that is different between the Unidens and GRE based scanners.

I have the table. I have previously stated the freqs. limits and offset. Yet, I can not receive. North Charleston SC is a complete blank.

If you download and install FreeSCAN, I will be able to check your programming for errors. Connect your computer to the scanner. Go to the Scanner tab in FreeSCAN and Download programming. Your programming will transfer from the scanner into FreeSCAN. Save the file. To be able to attach the file, you will need to right click on it and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder. Click on Attach files and Open the zipped folder. If scanner is unable to communicate with FreeSCAN, you may need to install the Uniden driver.

I have and do get Dorchester, Berkely, SCHP, Interop, etc... Frequencies directly from Radio reference.
I get them clearly and do get the (also) the Common freqs.

But, Charleston County, North Charleston County and City of Charleston County have gone dark. (to include Mt. Pleasant SC)
I have the frequencies in my scanner. I do understand that. I do understand Control frequencies.
Being that Dorchester, Berkely, SCHP, Interop, etc... do receive well, I can say that I am missing some "setup" for the scanner to properly receive Charleston County, North Charleston, and City of Charleston (all SC) communications.
I do require assistance in receiving these transmissions.

Out of curiosity what's the point of posting on a public forum if you're asking for help via email? I'll give my input here since the purpose of posting on these forums is for others to chime in and maybe someone may learn something new:. Let's begin:

What specific agencies are you unable to pick up? Taking a look at the talkgroup tables here and focusing on the "mode" column, No scanner, no receiver will be able to pick up those talkgroups ID'ed as mode "DE". These talkgroups are fully encrypted. This includes law enforcement on all counties / cities you inquired about. So if you're looking to pick up police, you're out of luck. Every other talkgroup ID'ed as mode "D" CAN be picked up (fire, public works, others). Hope this addresses your question.

There are a number of people on this site that might be able to help you, but for that to happen, you need to be responsive as to where you are at in the programming process.

From what I see on your county's database page, it appears that the agencies you are trying to hear may have moved to the statewide system, Palmetto 800, instead of the Charleston City Public Safety system that you are trying to receive.

For the Palmetto system, the two largest sites in your county are simulcast, which is not your 325P2's strong point.

Also, the majority of the law enforcement talkgroups for the agencies in your county are encrypted. Your 325P2 would simply ignore those transmissions.

You aren't hearing law enforcement in Charleston County because all law enforcement radio transmissions are now encrypted.

All Charleston County radio traffic is carried on the four "Charleston (County)" sites - 1-10 Charleston Co Simulcast, 1-11 Edisto Island, 1-12 Summerville and 1-13 North Charleston. You must be monitoring one of these 4 sites to hear Charleston County agencies.

State agencies and other counties (such as Berkeley and Dorchester) are carried on the "State" sites - such as 1-9 Charleston Co Simulcast (State), 1-58 Awendaw, and 1-59 Ravenel. If you're monitoring one of these sites, you'll hear MUSC, SCHP, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties, medical helos, etc. but no Charleston County agencies.

As this is a APCO P-25 system, rebanding tables are NOT required. The bandplan for the system is carried over the control channel, and your scanner should use that bandplan to properly track the system. Do not manually set a band plan.

If you program one of the "Charleston County" sites that are in range from your location - 1-10, 1-11, 1-12 or 1-13 - and add any of the Fire or EMS dispatch talkgroups, you will hear their traffic, which will verify that you have programmed the system properly. If you monitor site 1-10, It will also give you an indication of how much simulcast distortion will be and issue for your scanner in your location.

But as for Charleston County law enforcement, unfortunately, you'll be out of luck.
