Will we be able to get the rebanding in the 700's Mhz on the pro-96 & pro-2096? Will those scanners be obsolete? If there is a program, can someone send it to me? Does anyone know when they will be rebanding up around the Loveland area? Thanks

Don't know... I hear RS will have an upgrade for you 96'ers.
Don't confuse the new 700 MHz band with rebanding. Two different things. 700 will be added to two-way radio freqs officially after all UHF TV stations vacate that spectrum. It's being issued out in areas like ours where TV has either moved or was never there.
Rebanding is actually frequency trading. Public safety users will trade freqs with Nextel, but all freqs are in the 800 band. This has apparently already started in some parts of the country, but Nextel is really dragging their feet, so it may be several years before it's done. I know there are sites that show timetables for the swap, but don't put too much faith in those.
