I am in need of a replacement microphone for an FT-2500m. The radio came with an MH-27 and later models came with model MH-36c. So far, I haven't been successful in locating either. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

Scour the usual used sources: Ebay, Craigs List, and classified ads at QTH.com, QRZ.com, eham.net, and here.

I was never able to find any reasonably priced mics for mine. The few I did find had asking prices that were north of what a new VHF only mobile was going to cost. I ended up selling mine to someone who was going to use it for APRS.

Had the same issue with the 2400 I had.

I had the same problem three or four years ago. Our ARES group had two 2500's with bad mics. I found replacements for $100. At the time Yaesu was selling FT3200's for $139.95. I bought two and retired the 2500's. A better move since we have a Fusion repeater. We also had two FT1500's with bad mics. However, those mics are readily available and I ordered two new ones. I think they were about $80. Still too expensive but not such a bad deal as the 2500's.
