Is it an EDACS control channel (buzz with a rhythmic hammer sound) or P25 (more like automatic gunfire)? Look at this page for examples. So the Rockport TX EDACS control channel reappeared on the alternate frequency (858.4625) however any transmissions now are only open squelch Maybe they switched to encryption ??
Let's all go meet in Rockport one day and figure this system out...Ha!I’m looking deeper into Aransas County, they have some issues with their licenses I am noticing. KUE509 which is their main SO license for two P25 LSM sites for three repeaters (154.1075, 155.0625 and 155.2500) expired back in 2021. They have a current license on WQLI486 for a repeater on 158.7525 which has a control station at Rockport PD. I’m typing this on mobile and it will make more sense when I can get to my laptop and not be bouncing around from tab to tab. I’ll reply with more later.
Probably June for me….gotta save up for a cruise this summer and a car for my soon to be 16 yo daughter🙁Let's all go meet in Rockport one day and figure this system out...Ha!
The only reason I would be going to that area would be if I got an invite to see a Starship launch from a good viewing point on South Padre. Otherwise, I don't have justification for that long of a road trip from the other end of the state (Halfway between Dallas and the Red River)Let's all go meet in Rockport one day and figure this system out...Ha!

I'll plug all these frequencies into one of my scanners and run my mag mount scanner antenna on my vehicle to see if I can catch any traffic. Ok I've programmed all these frequencies conventionally I'll monitor today and see id I can hear anything from Corpus Christi. So here is the conventional side rundown of what Aransas County has as of today:
County
Rockport

So based on the above list, there are a few substantial differences in the current database that need to get resolved. It is noted that ACSO is using 155.250 currently, which is expired by a few years now. I checked the statewide just to be sure it wasn't licensed in an adjacent county, no dice there either. Fire North was changed from 154.370 to 155.8125 back in 2012. That's another to check out, as well as the hereto undiscovered repeaters on 158.7825, 151.1150, 151.3250, 154.1075 and the 800 simulcast 859.9625 which may be an analog backup for the trunk system there. Harvey probably had a lot of these systems used, destroyed, rebuilt and repurposed since the last major updates here.
Bottom line, most folks are there to fish and the fish don't bite when the scanner is chirping. It will be a fun task for someone who is into taking it on.
