I thought that this would be a good idea... if we had an overall roll call, to see how much of the country is covered by scanners. i know these are in a lot of the state forums, but since this is one of the most viewed forums, i though more people would respond. Moderators, please make this one a sticky.

Just say where you listen , what you listen to, and if you want, your setup.

I'm here in st.johns county, Florida. I scan the local fire rescue and city FD with my rs pro-95. I sometimes scan the local PD, but only when there is a big incident because their 10 codes are annoying to me. I have all the FRS, GMRS, and AAR frequencies in my scanner, and sometimes monitor those. I visit the south Chicago suburbs every summer, and monitor their local frequencies, as well as the Chicago PD and FD. I like to listen to the local Ham repeater (St.johns county ARES) at night when they usually sign on. I also listen to just some misc. frequencies from animal control to just a good skip and ducting frequency somebody tells me about.

Hi group... My name's Josh... and I'm addicted to scanners....

Scanning South Central Kentucky right now, soon to be scanning Central Kentucky, in the Lexington/Wichester/Richmond area.

Will be monitoring several counties, including Clark, Madison, Fayette, Estill, Garrard, Lee, Jackson, and several more. I've pretty much got Central Kentucky covered. :)

Also going to be snooping on Kentucky State Police's P25 Digital system.

My weapons of choice will be a RadioShack Pro-2096, Pro-2055, Pro-2052, Pro-528, Uniden 396T, and my old Bearcat BC60XLT. The old Bearcat is going in the work truck, so I'll be monitoring Clark County while working, when I can, and when I'm home, the others will be bouncing.

Also monitoring various ARTCC's in the area, as well as Bluegrass Airport in Lexington, Medical Helicopters statewide, Military Aircraft, and Business Band/GMRS. I've got a pretty full plate. :D

I'm in Bethany, a suburb of Oklahoma CIty, OK. Mostly I'm listening to a bunch of amateur radio frequencies, but do have the Bethany & Warr Acres PD / FD, EMSA (who covers all of the metro area), and Oklahoma County sheriff.

A separate bank has the Oklahoma DPS trunk system in it, as well as the low-band highway patrol freqs. I'll occasionally turn that bank on, but it often gets too busy and I turn it back off...

I *really* miss listening to the Oklahoma City Fire Dept. :-( Darn OKC and their encrypted systems...

I have a PRO-433 hooked up to a discone 25 feet high, and a PRO-60 handheld.

I also have a host of amateur rigs, that generally wind up with at least the Bethany PD & FD freqs plugged in.

I have a Pro-96, Pro-74(?), and an old Uniden BC230 Scanner. I listen to the west side of the Detroit suburbs and parts of Washtenaw, Oakland, and Monroe counties.
