Romney Police?

Hey folks-

First, Happy Thanksgiving--I hope everyone had a good one.

I'm hoping that a local may be able to help me out... I have a home that sits between Slanesville and Augusta, and I've been trying--without success--to hear Romney Police. I have programmed the info from RR database (37.18 and 37.28 MHz) on my BCD396T,but have never been able to copy anything on those freqs. I have a decent outside antenna, but I'm wondering if I'm suffering from low-band + topography issues or if they have moved to another freq/band? I've looked at the maps, and FCC database says they are using 60 to 100W--I should be able to at least hear a bit of static from them. Is anyone able to copy Romney PD on the current RR freqs?

I have also been listening for them on the WV Interop system. I have heard the Hampshire County Sheriff, but haven't found any talkgroups that could be Romney. I would welcome any advice or suggestions--hopefully from someone in the area.

I'm listening in Cumberland, It sounds like they were grouped in with the Sheriffs office using TG 1307 on the WVIRP system. The two Low band channels are very quiet. There is a little traffic on the old county VHF system. 151.16750, 154.31000.

I'll take a closer look at that TGID on the WVIRP system. There's not much going on around here, so I figured Romney would have the most action.

I noted last night the following...R1, R2, R3 are the Romney city cars and are being dispatched by the Sheriff's office.

I live in Romney a many of the offcoers live near me. How can I be of help? One of the reasons I have heard is that in small towns it cost more to keep a dui in the jail and transfer to state so they would rather not pick up also they get a very low salary and many are lost to sherriff or state after a few months as pay is so much better. The alarm goes off night all hours it sounds like a concentration camp. The local ambulance companies were racing to accidents because both were being called as they were trying to be fair but finally one gave in as they were being turned down as the gps was bette on one and they were paying for round trip gas . If I can help please reach out I am new but willing to help

The new chief of police is amazing he is compassionate and you get the feeling he is one of us. I am very ill and some of the past offder was a bully to me. He smoke so much that going to his patrol window to ask was horrid. Let alone ride along. I saw several arsons and drug deals video rolled but knowbody ever called.
