I ran a search thru the FCC search in our database and the search does not show an active license for 453.65 in NY belonging to East Islip Fire Dept. WPPY970

Ran the same search on Intercept FCC Database search and it returns the license in question. WPPY970

Only search criteria was the freq of 453.65 and State of NY. Why is the FCC search thru our db not picking up this license?

When using Query- Frequency Data, the license is returned.

When using Query- FCC Data (USA) the license is not returned.

Submit the data to be added to the database.
Doesn't deal with the OP's original issue...

I ran a search thru the FCC search in our database and the search does not show an active license for 465.65 in NY belonging to East Islip Fire Dept. WPPY970
Dave:
Where are you getting 465.650 from? Not even seeing it in the FCC ULS...

I confirmed what Dave reported when inputting 463.650 into FCC data search for NY (licensee doesn't appear). I too have found this with some licenses I've checked in the past (not a regular issue) and therefore have become less reliant on the RR FCC search. Lately I've frequented maprad.io but only drawback is it doesn't link to the FCC ULS

It's in the RR FCC database, but it's missing the city/county/state data so searching by state fails to find it.

Seems mobile only licenses with 'radius around a center point' area of operations don't get state fields populated in the RR FCC database.

That is not the correct procedure, unless the OP has actually monitored traffic since the database is not based on FCC licenses it is based on confirmed hits. The database search he was talking about is the FCC query which is pulled from FCC files. Two different things.

Because the license is for Mobile Only and in the FCC DB it doesn't have a City, State or County
only listed as 16.0 km radius around a fixed location 1

Sadly a known issue for those of us who use the FCC DB

BTW Dave you listed 465.6500 at the top of your post which a few of us could not even find on that license, even went back to prior Admin modifications

Theres always one person out there that spots my typo's. Lol Freq in question would be 453.65. I will submit for change

It's in the RR FCC database, but it's missing the city/county/state data so searching by state fails to find it.

The other site I use (Intercept FCC Database search) displays the proper County, City and State when searching 453.65.

It's certainly possible to do some post processing on the FCC data dump to derive the city/county/state location info, it's just not in the raw FCC data.

Mobile licenses that have an associated fixed station wouldn't be too hard to figure out. Mobile only licenses that just have a lat/long/radius or boxed coordinate operational areas would require some reverse geocoding.

So what are you saying, the other site might do some post processing and radio reference does not?
