I’ve been monitoring the RWC G deck (West Valley) and have not received anything in days. I am receiving a control channel 771.6187 MHz. The G Deck use to pass traffic for several agencies including Peoria PD but now it seems all northwest valley RWC radio traffic is on White Tanks. Unable to receive any traffic even when I search for any talk group.

Anyone know why G Deck isn’t passing any radio traffic?

I'm near Cave Creek & Sim G is loud & clear as normal.

Is your radio a Uniden?

Yes Uniden HP-1 with the extreme option. I live north of Happy Valley around 127th Ave. I can receive the other decks including Simulcast H loud and clear but G just isn’t passing traffic to my area anymore. Thought maybe the techs reoriented the antennas for traffic on the extreme west side of valley.

Has G deck been converted to Phase 2?

To clarify: G-deck are the clear Interoperability talkgroups. They are only active as needed for multi-agency events and incidents.

Simulcast G is the simulcast that covers most of the West Valley.

Which one are you asking about?

My bad, I was inquiring about Simulcast G. I was once able to receive some radio traffic off of simulcast G. Now I don’t though I am receiving data from the control channel 771.6187, WACN BEE08, NAC 530, system ID 0534h-005/ Site ID 001. I am using a HP-1 that has the extreme option. Signal flutters around S6-8. Antenna on roof, 700 MHz with 50’ of 1/2” super flex. Tried the attenuation option, didn’t help.

771.618750 is the actual active control channel at the moment.

I'm still getting Avondale PD, Glendale PD, Peoria PD, El Mirage PD, Surprise PD, and Phoenix FD RDC on Simulcast G, with my SDS-100 in the past several minutes. I haven't heard anything from Tolleson PD, or Tohono O'odham PD yet. They may not have had any traffic to hear.

Peoria PD and Surprise PD should be the only two carried on the White Tanks site. Oh, Phoenix FD K-2 may be heard here as well.

Towers Mtn should have Peoria PD, as well as Phoenix FD K-1 and K-6.

Switched to a rubber ducky antenna, they are all coming in now. LOL if I am receiving the control channel one would think that I would receive radio traffic from the same system.

K9, K1, Avondale, Surprise, Glendale, Peoria.
…..
Just remembered my roof mount antenna is not a 700MHz antenna it is a multiband antenna that receives Scottsdale PD and just about everything around the valley and I can’t remember the name of it right now It’s late good night.

My antenna is a PCTEL (Laird)
PcTWSLMR-2. Unity gain on 136-174, 380-520 and 698-960. The Azimuth and Elevation patters are decent. Now I have to wonder what would happen if I add a little attenuation as the built in 20db attenuator didn’t help. I have a set of sma anttenuators any combination didn’t help the external antenna but I could see the S meter vary quite a bit. Attenuation on the rubber duck worked with as much as 5Db but I lost reception at 6 Db.

Just in a bad location to receive simulcast G signals with an old HP1 and an antenna on the roof.

Thanks for confirming Simulcast G is up and running, Think I will buy a radio built for simulcast.
