Last night I decided to update my CG frequencies. I didn't have any of the NET frequencies in the scanner. Today I got lots of hits on NET 27 (172.2375) or in this case I guess it was NET 127 as it was P25 and encrypted. I didn't hear anything on the UHF frequencies.

Which Sector or Station ? The West Coast is lacking in CG LMR info for the wiki.

I believe it was San Diego but I can't be sure yet. Los Angeles is a possibility although remote.

Any idea if it was simplex or repeated?

There may be a standard lineup for repeaters that could correspond to Pacific and/or Atlantic. Just a hunch I get from what I know of repeaters in California.

I can't be sure Wayne due to encryption and the corresponding lack of info that can be gathered from the transmissions. If I were forced to guess, I would say the traffic I heard was repeated due to the equalities in signal strength from all of the transmissions.

I just posted this in another thread... if you listen to the P25 in raw mode there will be "idle" data at the end of the conversation when it's repeated. It's generally two seconds but it's always there for a repeater. When you hear the difference between simplex and repeated you'll know what I mean.

I am hearing this on my PSR-500. I put the freqs. into my 396T to listen to the analog version of the signal. I definitely hear a couple of seconds of white noise on the analog from the 396T followed by the encryption racket from the PSR-500. I can't detect anything after the end of the encrypted noise. I'm not sure if this means anything. ??????

I heard Net 113 (163.1375 MHz) P25 and encrypted today. NAC was 293 as expected.

When voice is being passed the pitch of the brapping sound varies but when no voice is passed and it's just the CAI (background data of P25 for signaling) the pitch will not vary at all. Sorry, it's hard to describe the sound.

I'll try and record some audio samples.

Sector Mobile is using 111 (162.325), P25, un-encrypted. It's definately through a repeater. Has been active for at least a year here in Alabama. I don't listen very often but I don't think I have ever heard them use encryption.

I've found most of New England is conventional except Sector Boston has a Repeater on CG-128 using CG-113 as the input so they can [Prior to Rescue 21] listen to Sector Southern New England activity from Boston

See what you find on the other CG LMR where you might find the input

I'll give it a try. Hadn't thought about trying to find the input. The base itself itself is out of my antenna range. I'm using a collapisble<sp> 28 inch whip on the scanners (396t/396xt). On the car I have a magnet mount with a 28 inch whip on it. It's a compromise antenna but it works fairly well.

I have heard the CG on 162.325, P25, NAC 293. I have heard it both encrypted and in the clear. I heard it used by the CG station at Ponce Inlet, FL (Sector Jacksonville).
