Just wanted to see if anybody else is having fun with this. Tracking Bell County, Travis County, Corpus, Galveston, and all but three Starnet sites from Navasota, ground level! Also picked up DPS McAllen on 155.445 P25 I believe. Didn't copy callsign, but heard stranded motorist on US 281 near Edinburg.

The Skip had been Incredible! I was listening to Miami (OK) Police, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Too many Apco-25 systems. Lufkin has a channel that was Blowing out My Local Fire Channel. Starnet Comes in in pieces even in Lite Skip. I was also hearing Louisana State I think the Baton Rouge area. Yeah, its been a blast.

Add Bexco Water Dist, SysID 7724, on a Pro-96 w/ a rubber duckie, inside the house, in west Houston.

I'm in Northwest Houston. Early this morning (11P-4A) I was pulling in Webb Co., Bee Co., Refugio Co., Kleberg Co., Liberty Co., DPS Texas City, and even Hudspeth County in West Texas. Sure is nice to listen to other agencies around Texas. South Texas law enforcement agencies sure make for some good listening. Not bad for a Pro-97 with the factory rubber duckie.

"South Texas law enforcement agencies sure make for some good listening."

Wait until you hear the USCG (only) side of a conversation, and it's USCG Corpus Christi on channel 16.

I had to turn down the volume of my AR5K. (This was about 8 years ago, about 2AMish when I worked the evening shift and 2AM was bedtime.)
