How do I unlock my scanner? I tried the method in the manual but it goes right back to the "Scan Mode All Locked" message. I can't get it to do anything. This scanner is brand new...I just took it out of the box.

Scan Mode All Locked

A general reset for that problem would be to factory reset the scanner - wiping it of all your settings too, so trying this is up to you:

- Starting with the scanner turned Off,

- please press and hold down all three of the 2, the 9, and the HOLD keys at the same time,

- and then while holding them, turn On the scanner.

- After about 5 or 10 seconds, release those buttons, please, and the reset should be achieved.
If you need some other unlock, please let me know what shows on the scanner's screen, for further help.

All brand new BC125AT scanners are now shipped with no frequencies stored in their memory, thus there is nothing to scan, The only thing that is active is close call on new scanners.

Go to the page in the manual that show you how to manually enter frequencies and store something in memory channel 001 and then add another frequency to memory channel 002. These two memory channels are in memory bank 1. It should then start scanning bank 1. You should see the small “1” at the bottom of the screen blinking.

Page 37 is the page number in the manual.

Additionally, once you get some frequencies stored in bank 1, if you try to activate or get banks 2 thru 10 to scan, you will get a message about that bank being locked out since it won't have any frequencies stored in. In other words, it locks out any bank that doesn't have any frequencies in it and it will lock out any bank that has frequencies but all of the frequencies are locked out. In other words, if you have 3 frequencies stored in bank 3, but all 3 of them are locked out, you will get the message about bank 3 being locked out.

Wow! I received two very helpful responses on this forum. It's amazing how your information "fixed" my scanner. I must have been suffering from E.O.H. disease...Excessive Operator Headspace! Thanks so very much!
