Not much chatter on ther Diamond D707E. Pricey I must say.

So how about this antenna? Price I could deal with, approx. $54.84 - United Kingdom

Vertical Base Antenna
The Scanbase 1300 is a high quality, wideband fibreglass base station antenna for the scanner user. Features Chelcom Aerials unique helix/multi-trap system, to provide excellent reception over a wide frequency range.

The Scanbase 1300 is housed in a 19mm diameter fibreglass tube, with a heavily plated brass boss assembly, and stainless steel radials. The mounting tube is heavily anodised aluminium. Built to commercial standards, the Scanbase 1300 will provide years of trouble free, high performance reception.

Supplied with extruded aluminium mounting brackets, “V” bolts, nuts and washers. Will fit mast sizes up to 63mm diameter.

I had one of these. It was unbelievably disappointing! I thought maybe because I was in the city, it was overloading. I even tried it on an Icom IC-R7000 (not just a scanner). My friend tried it at his cottage, same results. I honestly think a coat hanger would work better!

Did you try to use attenuate, lets you program your scanner to reduce the scanner's sensitivity to strong local signals, to reduce interference or noise caused by these signals.

Your cottage friend, city or country?
Could it been defective?
