For those of you who have trunking scanners, how do you have your banks set up?

I was setting up my soon to arrive Pro 96 by county. Each bank being for a different county. That way if something interesting was going on in my county, I didn't have to listen to the cops chatter about a donut raid two counties over.

I have set up the Fayette County, Lexington, Kentucky bank as this. The first few frequencies, are for the EDACS trunked system. I then skipped a memory channel, and inputted all the conventional frequencies. I only skipped a channel so I could easily tell them apart during editing later.

Would it be best to have a seperate bank for Lexington's EDACS and then another seperate bank for their conventional frequencies only? Essentially having Lexington programmed into two banks. One bank for the trunked system, one bank for the conventional frequencies.

Or, would it be best to have it set up as I have it now, All in one. I have them seperated in my Pro-528, I sorta like how it's set up, but I didn't know if it would be beneficial to be able to lock out a group of frequencies if I wanted or not. If I ever heard an interesting talkgroup, I imagine I could just hold on it however..

Need your guy's input?

I have the State Police AWIN (Digital System) listed in the same bank as the conventional frequencies for my County. My scanner is a Radio Shack Pro 96.
I have not experienced any undesirable conditions. I believe it would be OK to store both in one bank.

Ok. Thanks guys. I guess I'll leave the programming the way it is for now. I might make a bank in my Pro 528 with everything in one and compare the two setups on the same scanner to get a feel for the result with the Pro 96.

I don't see how it could make any difference, only difference would be I could lock out all the conventional frequencies from the scan sequence by turning the bank off.

Thanks!

Pro 2055 Setup.

With my pro 2055 , I have a very busy trunked system in springfield with nine talk groups.
I put one talk group per bank. Channel 1 is Bank 1 , Channel 2 is Bank 2 , Ect... . I then put my County and State ( conventional ) in bank 0. Ive found this setup to be the best yet because it gives me more control over the trunked system.

Here's how mine is set up:

Bank 0: Hamilton County's System (P25 Digital Trunked System)
Bank 1: City of Cincinnati's System (Same system as Hamilton County, Just shared. P25 Digital)
Bank 2: Misc Hamilton county/Cincinnati Frequency's (Conventional)
Bank 3: Hamilton County Ham Radio Frequencies
Bank 4: Greater CIncinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport EDACS (and some conventional Air frequencies)
Bank 5: Ohio MARCS Statewide system
Bank 6: Duke Energy Trunked System
Bank 7: Warren County (Trunked system and Conventional)
Bank 8: Southeast Indiana (Includes SAFE-T, and COnvetional)
Bank 9: Northern Kentucky (All the Northern Kentucky Counties Police and Fire)

I am planning on dropping one of the banks (probably Bank 4 since I now have a Pro-97 that will track it well) and put Railroad Frequencies in there.

Enjoy.
