I am sure that if I knew anything about scanners I would be able to find this answer somewhere in these forums, but unfortunately I really have no knowledge on scanners.
My Dad lives in Lindsay Ontario and used to listen to the Lindsay Police on his scanner. I'm assuming it would be The city of Kawartha Lakes Police now after amalgamation. Unfortunately, I believe a couple of years ago he said something about them switching over to digital signal instead of analog and now his scanner will not pick up the City of Kawartha Lakes Police.
I know his scanner is old and I would love to get him a new one, but like I said I really don't know anything about them.
My question is: Is it possible to pick up the City of Kawartha Lakes Police on a newer scanner? And if so, are there any recommendations of scanners that would be good for him.....nothing with a lot of bells and whistles as he is elderly and really only enjoyed listening to that one channel.
