Is there any local stores like Best Buy, or Circuit city that sell a mount for my PRO97 to fit inside my car?

I'm a believer in velcro, rest assured, but I'd like something that I can suction to the windshield or dash in the G6 or my Caprice and be able to glance at the display without fiddling or taking my eyes off the road.

At one time one could get a cell phone mount that would squeeze from the side and mounted to the dash area with either velcro or a double sided sticky tape. I got mine from Radio Shack several years ago and it works quite well. I have heard some on this reflector indicate that they found one from a dollar store.

Well, no matter what you use, remember that a Pro-9x "brick" flying through the passenger compartment in an accident can be lethal.

I've seen many folks use those cupholder mounts like was mentioned. The kind that's got the two things that squeeze the scanner like a vise. THen you gotta hit a button on the side to get it to let go.

I've never used one myself, but I think it's a great idea.

BTW: If you've got a 396T, or other scanner with the little mushroom shaped knob on the back, a standard CB radio microphone clip will hold it. You've gotta bend the mic clip a little bit to get the thicker knob to fit, but you get the picture. :D
