It looks like Scottsdale's simulcast on the RWC is starting to come online. I am getting a control channel:

771.84375
Site 0534h-0301 BEE08

I will run it through Unitrunker later to get the other control channels and look for talkgroup activity.

Can you (or anyone else with a digital scanner) tell me if digital with talk groups is like analog with talk groups where you have to 'chase' the frequency daily and lock out the frequency that has all the static garbage on it? Does that make any sense? Like, with Chandler PD they have control channels but no talk groups so the frequencies you program is is what you get chatter on. But Scottsdale PD has control channels plus talk groups so you have to lock out the daily garbage to hear the actual transmission.

I don't think you understand how trunking works. Chandler, just like Scottsdale and all the other trunking systems in the valley have talkgroups. Your scanner is most definitely programmed incorrectly if it is not tracking the trunk system, you should not have to lock out control channels or scan manually. With most trunk tracking scanners tracking a Motorola system you should only have to program in the control channels in the frequency area then program talkgroups that you want to hear. The scanner then finds the control channel(static garbage) and from that data knows when one of the talkgroups you have programmed is requesting a frequency to transmit on it then goes to that frequency just like the Motorola radio's do and listens in.

I never claimed to know how trunking works. Hahahaha. I just know that I programmed in the Thompson Peak (and So Scotts) 800 freqs plus the talk groups and I'm getting a whole lot of interference. And it's not my building that causes the interference because when there is communications going on I can hear it fine. I followed the instructions for how to program a trunking scanner and this is what I ended up with. For some reason, though, my handheld scanner gives me more interference than my base and they have the same freqs programmed.

I have had it programmed in my everyday scanner for the last couple weeks. I have not heard any activity on it yet. I have not had a chance to run Unitrunker against it yet.

I got a chance to run the control channel through Pro96Com today for a few minutes. Here is what I found:

771.84375 = Control
771.09375 = Alternate Control
771.34375 = Alternate Control
771.59375 = Alternate Control

Callsign = WQJU870

Logged radio ID 29030 affiliate with the site.

Logged patch between talkgroups 2978 and 2808 being created and removed.

Looking at Simulcast A site 201, the new Scottsdale Simulcast H Site 501 is listed as a neighbor. There should be activity if any units roam over to this site.
