SD 100 GPS / please

Am using the Uniden GPS unit in my travels, but it is not receiving any of the channels or systems i pass thru; profile/FL monitorable, range set, but with the gps unplug from usb 2, I receive FL fine, i would like the radio - as others have had, success in having the radio do the work without me selecting on/off of FL
how do you know when the gps is receiving satellite signal? or has power?
and what is the USB 1 used for ?

Set the display to show lat/lon. You will also see the GPS Icon.

Do you have the FL set for location?
